RSE and Health Ed/P4A

RSE & Health Ed/P4A

RSE & Health Ed is at the very heart of Ashley High School's ethos and curriculum. Weekly RSE & Health Ed lessons help all our students develop as individuals in a wider society. Our students learn to understand themselves physically, emotionally, socially and sexually and to understand their relationships with others.

At Ashley High School we aim for every learner to have the opportunity to develop essential key skills. In RSE & Health Education this will be achieved through the teaching of RSE, Science and Independent Living during P4A lessons.

RSE and Health Ed is about the emotional, social and cultural development of students and involves learning about relationships, sexual health, healthy lifestyles, diversity and personal identity.

At Key Stage 3 and 4 students follow a bespoke programme and cover units including: Relationships, Living in the Wider World, Health and Wellbeing and Careers.

RSE has been statutory since September 2020. Lessons around RSE are delivered to all year groups as specified in the Statutory Guidance.
