Interventions and Reading Schemes

English Interventions
 
Phonics                       
 
All Year 7 students sit a Phonics baseline assessment when they enter the school. Those who need it receive relevant support targeted to their phonic ability. This continues to Year 8 for students who require further support.
 
Dyslexia Support         
 
Those students with a diagnosis of dyslexia receive intervention and follow the toe-by-toe scheme.
 
 
 
Numeracy Interventions
 

Catch Up Numeracy:

This is a structured one to one intervention for learners who find numeracy difficult. Catch Up Numeracy addresses 10 key components of numeracy.

  • Word problems
  • Translation
  • Remembered facts
  • Derived facts
  • Ordinal numbers

Staff deliver this intervention to students across KS3 and KS4.
